"The book is a great tool. I believe it is making a huge impact in Swaziland." -- Trainer using the book in Swaziland
" I am rising above the warning level by this book. It puts me down to repent. I may have misled many people before. Thanx Duane for these golden pages. I am informed." -- Kenyan teaching in southern Sudan
"I couldn’t put the book down! -- Physician in Aurangabad, India
"Everything you tell us not to say is exactly what I have been taught to say." -- Zimbabwean nursing teacher on the Provisional AIDS Council who has been doing HIV/AIDS education for 15 years
The second edition of HIV Hope for the Nations was a complete rewrite. The author has learned so much from the seminars he has facilitated around the world that he felt compelled to include the insights God has give him rather than just reprinting the first edition. He is now in the process of rewriting the book again. We hope to have the third edition published in 2018.
One of the author's greatest gifts is the ability to communicate complex truths in ways that anyone of any educational level, and in any culture can understand and share with others. The book focuses on people and educators' attitudes toward the people they teach. Educators who do not sincerely believe in people cannot expect to be successful in helping others believe in themselves.
Topics addressed include:
o The importance of motivation, not just information
o The use of positive motivation (hope) rather than just fear
o Overcoming obstacles including gender inequality, a lack of understand of cause and the effect of
relationships, cultural barriers to making healthy life-choices, etc.
o How HIV infects the cells of the body
o How ARVs work to combat the infection
o The importance of reinforcing healthy behaviors, not just changing risky ones
o Replacing the stigma and discrimination too often suffered by those living with the virus with attitudes like friendship, compassion, working together, and hope.

- The book is a great tool. The best part is the positive reinforcement the book portrayed. The Swazi nationals take the book everywhere they go and have used the information in the book to talk with relatives and friends about the stigma and mis-truths that they have heard down the years about HIV/AIDS. Thank you so much for taking the time to write the book. I believe it is making a huge impact in Swaziland." -- Trainer using the book in Swaziland
- "I never associated the HIV/AIDS campaigns with people, I only thought of creating fear by warning and showing pathetic pictures, but when Duane says not all people value long life, I STOPPED AND THOUGHT for a WHILE. Not everyone needs to obey instructions though the threat and consequences of his/her actions are fatal. Some literally don't care whether they live or die at the end of HIV/AIDS campaigns. Death to some is more than a relief. To such, there is more tact needed that just to educate, inform and create fear of the disease. I am rising above the warning level by this book. It puts me down to repent. I may have misled many people before. Thanx Duane for these golden pages. I am informed." -- Kenyan teaching in southern Sudan
- "I couldn’t put the book down! It presents things so clearly and simply. This book will make a big difference in slowing the spread of HIV here in India!" -- Physician in Aurangabad, India
- "Everything you tell us not to say is exactly what I have been taught to say. It is exactly what the government has taught me to say. Now I understand why our HIV prevention efforts have not worked!" -- Zimbabwean nursing teacher on the Provisional AIDS Council who has been doing HIV/AIDS education for 15 years
